Sarah Blank

Sarah Blank

Sarah’s 40-year career as an interior designer, specializing in kitchens and specific space planning, has taken her to projects all over the country—from New York and Connecticut to the Palm Beaches and California. She received her BA in interior design at the Fashion Institute of Technology, but credits her embrace of classicism to Richard Sammons of Fairfax & Sammons Architects. Sarah’s deep immersion in his work, and additional studies at the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, helped her to understand that a beautiful and functional kitchen is not only an integral part of the architecture of a house, but the center of life in the home. She and her team bring a precise technical perspective to every one of their design projects, allowing them to see how the kitchen relates and interacts with surrounding rooms. Sarah’s passionate referrals and strong repeat business are testament to the success of her designs—timeless spaces that age beautifully and retain their integrity for a lifetime of use. Based in the Litchfield Hills and Greenwich areas of Connecticut, Sarah volunteers her time in support of education, historical preservation, and the arts. She is a strong participant in the Darien Community Association, a member of the Northwest Connecticut Land Conservancy, and chair of the Old Stone Church and Meetinghouse in New Preston, CT. In addition to guest speaker appearances at the Traditional Building Conference Series, she has lectured and taught at the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art in New York. When not on site, Sarah can be found in her own kitchen, cooking for husband Charles and her son David, with her three dogs, Ollie, Bella Rose, and Ziggy Stardust sniffing the air not far away.
