A charming Wedding Cake house in the heart of Windham, New York was restored to its original charm and beauty. Our goal was to maintain the character of the old home with a few modern conveniences resulting in a cozy, welcoming space to entertain in. We incorporated original elements such as reclaimed beams and repurposed the home’s wood framing for the kitchen shelves. ‘Whimsical’ was the desired theme, which is prevalent throughout. A collection of fanciful brass hooks on the mudroom walls, an enchanted wall mural in the “Narnia room,” and a custom handmade secretary desk in the youngest daughter’s bedroom add to the playfulness. The living room, filled with a variety of textures, patterns and rich colors of chestnut, burnt orange, and cream is complete with a baby grand piano and an antique fireplace mantle.
